BANGALORE, June 3: It is going to be a tough grind for the Indian bowlers at the five-day camp beginning in Mysore from Monday. Bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and trainer Gregory King are already in the City of Palaces along with the country's top 14 bowlers. The camp at the picturesque Infosys ground is to help the bowlers fine-tune their skills.
The players, who arrived at the National Cricket Academy here in batches on Sunday, left for Mysore in the evening.
Two sessions per day have been planned for the entire camp duration. Piyush Chawla, who was scheduled to leave for Australia to train at the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane along with Yo Mahesh and Cheteshwar Pujara on Saturday, has been asked join the camp.
Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, who were listed for the bowling camp, will not take part as they are playing in the Afro-Asia Cup One-dayers to be held from June 6. S Sreesanth will join the camp on June 6 after the Twenty20 Cup match on Tuesday.
Promising pacer Pankaj Singh, 22, from Rajasthan has been included in the camp in the last minute.
The camp will be conducted amidst tight security and media has been barred. The batsmen's camp will be held from June 9 to 12 at the NCA here.
Bowlers at the camp: Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar, Rudra Pratap Singh, Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Ramesh Powar, Vikram Rajvir Singh, Ranadeb Bose, Ishant Sharma, Rajesh Pawar, Piyush Chawla, Pragyan Ojha and Pankaj Singh.
